CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. Salt = 0.20×30=60.20 \times 30 = 6 litres, and adding water does not change it.

  2. For 6 litres to be 12%, the total must be 60.12=50\frac{6}{0.12} = 50 litres.

  3. Water to add = 50−30=2050 - 30 = 20 litres.

Worth noting

Keep the salt fixed and find the new total. 8 litres just subtracts the percentages (20−12)(20 - 12), which has no meaning here.
