CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Water = 0.25×40=100.25 \times 40 = 10 litres, and it does not change.

  2. For 10 litres to be 20%, the total must be 100.20=50\frac{10}{0.20} = 50 litres.

  3. Milk to add = 50−40=1050 - 40 = 10 litres.

Worth noting

50 litres is the new total, and 40 litres is the milk in the final mixture — neither is the amount added.
