CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. At first: milk = 70 litres, water = 20 litres.

  2. The 18 litres drawn out are in the ratio 7:27 : 2: milk 14 litres, water 4 litres.

  3. Left: milk 56, water 16. After adding 18 litres of water: milk 56, water 34.

  4. Milk : water = 56:34=28:1756 : 34 = 28 : 17.

Worth noting

26:1926 : 19 treats the 18 litres drawn out as pure milk; 28:1928 : 19 forgets that 4 litres of water also left the can.
