CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. Required SP = 1.2 × ₹1,200 = ₹1,440.

  2. This SP is 90% of the MP.

  3. MP = 1440×10090=16001440 \times \frac{100}{90} = 1600, that is ₹1,600.

Worth noting

₹1,440 is the SP, not the MP. ₹1,584 adds 10% to ₹1,440 instead of dividing by 0.9.
