CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Take CP = ₹100, so SP after discount = ₹96.

  2. ₹96 is 80% of MP, so MP = 96÷0.896 \div 0.8 = ₹120.

  3. Selling at MP gives a profit of ₹20 on ₹100, that is 20%.

Worth noting

Doing −4%+20%=16%-4\% + 20\% = 16\% is the trap. The 20% is on the MP, so work back to the MP first.
