CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Flat 35% off means paying 0.65 of the MP.

  2. After 25% off, the price is 0.75 of the MP.

  3. Second fraction paid = 0.650.75=1315\frac{0.65}{0.75} = \frac{13}{15}.

  4. Extra discount = 1−1315=215=1313%1 - \frac{13}{15} = \frac{2}{15} = 13\frac{1}{3}\%.

Worth noting

10% (35%−25%)(35\% - 25\%) is too small, because it is taken on the reduced price. 25% then 10% gives only 32.5%.
