Options for question 3

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Bracket first: 12−8=412 - 8 = 4.

  2. Then multiplication and division left to right: 5×4=205 \times 4 = 20, 20÷2=1020 \div 2 = 10.

  3. Finally 7+10=177 + 10 = 17.

Worth noting

Adding 7 and 5 first gives 12×4÷2=2412 \times 4 \div 2 = 24; addition must wait until every multiplication and division is done.
