Options for question 12

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Bracket: 3×4=123 \times 4 = 12.

  2. Multiplication and division: 8×5=408 \times 5 = 40 and 60÷12=560 \div 12 = 5.

  3. Then 12+40−5=4712 + 40 - 5 = 47.

Worth noting

Ignoring the bracket turns 60÷3×460 \div 3 \times 4 into 80 and the answer into −28-28. The bracket makes the divisor 12.
