CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Together: 14+16=512\frac{1}{4} + \frac{1}{6} = \frac{5}{12} of the pile per hour.

  2. Time = 125\frac{12}{5} hours = 2 hours + 25×60\frac{2}{5} \times 60 minutes = 2 hours 24 minutes.

Worth noting

0.4 hour is 24 minutes, not 40 minutes. 5 hours is the average of the two times, and 10 hours is their sum.
