CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Use M1D1H1W1=M2D2H2W2\frac{M_1D_1H_1}{W_1} = \frac{M_2D_2H_2}{W_2}.

  2. 10×12×660=15×D×890\frac{10 \times 12 \times 6}{60} = \frac{15 \times D \times 8}{90}, so 12=120D9012 = \frac{120D}{90}.

  3. D=12×90120=9D = \frac{12 \times 90}{120} = 9 days.

Worth noting

Forgetting that the second trench is longer gives 6 days. Putting the hours on the wrong side gives 16 days.
