CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. y=cy = c meets y=x2y = x^{2} at x=±cx = \pm\sqrt{c} and lies above it between them.

  2. ∫−cc(c−x2) dx=2c3/2−23c3/2=43c3/2\int_{-\sqrt{c}}^{\sqrt{c}} (c - x^{2})\,dx = 2c^{3/2} - \frac{2}{3}c^{3/2} = \frac{4}{3}c^{3/2} square units.

Worth noting

23c3/2\frac{2}{3}c^{3/2} is ∫−ccx2 dx\int_{-\sqrt{c}}^{\sqrt{c}} x^{2}\,dx, the area under the parabola, not the region above it.
