Question 46

HardOriginal question

CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Δ=a11A11+a12A12+a13A13\Delta = a_{11}A_{11} + a_{12}A_{12} + a_{13}A_{13}, and the cofactors already carry their signs.

  2. 2(4)+(−1)(5)+3(−2)=8−5−6=−32(4) + (-1)(5) + 3(-2) = 8 - 5 - 6 = -3.

Worth noting

7 puts the signs +,−,++, -, + in again, 8+5−68 + 5 - 6; that is for minors, not cofactors.
