CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Let HCF⁡=h\operatorname{HCF} = h, so LCM⁡=14h\operatorname{LCM} = 14h.

  2. h+14h=600h + 14h = 600, so h=40h = 40 and LCM⁡=560\operatorname{LCM} = 560.

  3. Other number = 40×560280=80\frac{40 \times 560}{280} = 80.

  4. Check: HCF⁡(280,80)=40\operatorname{HCF}(280, 80) = 40 and LCM⁡(280,80)=560\operatorname{LCM}(280, 80) = 560.

Worth noting

40 and 560 are the HCF and the LCM, not the missing number.
