CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Let the price be ₹pp per kg. Her money is 3p+603p + 60 and also 5p−405p - 40.

  2. 3p+60=5p−403p + 60 = 5p - 40, so 2p=1002p = 100 and p=50p = 50.

  3. Her money =3×50+60=₹210= 3 \times 50 + 60 = ₹210.

  4. New price =50−20=₹30= 50 - 20 = ₹30 per kg, so she can buy 210÷30=7210 \div 30 = 7 kg.

Worth noting

4.2 kg divides by the OLD price and 10.5 kg divides by the ₹20 drop itself. 5 kg uses only the ₹150 cost of 3 kg as her money.
