Options for question 37

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. If the edges are l, b and hh, the face areas are lb, bh and hl.

  2. Their product is (lbh)², so (lbh)2=48×60×80=2,30,400(lbh)^2 = 48 \times 60 \times 80 = 2{,}30{,}400.

  3. Volume = 2,30,400=480\sqrt{2{,}30{,}400} = 480 cm³. (The edges are 6, 8 and 10 cm.)

Worth noting

188 is just the sum of the three areas. The product of the three face areas is the SQUARE of the volume.
