CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Let CP = ₹x. Actual SP = 1.1x.

  2. New CP = 0.9x and new SP = 1.2×0.9x=1.08x1.2 \times 0.9x = 1.08x.

  3. The SP falls by 1.1x−1.08x=0.02x1.1x - 1.08x = 0.02x = ₹44.

  4. x=44÷0.02x = 44 \div 0.02 = ₹2,200.

Worth noting

₹2,420 is the actual selling price. ₹4,400 treats ₹44 as 1% of the CP.
