CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Take CP = ₹100, so SP = ₹119.

  2. ₹119 is 85% of MP, so MP = 119÷0.85119 \div 0.85 = ₹140.

  3. At the MP the profit is ₹40 on ₹100, that is 40%.

Worth noting

19%+15%=34%19\% + 15\% = 34\% is the trap. 36.85% adds 15% of ₹119 instead of dividing by 0.85.
