CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. Rahul's lap time =1.29= \frac{1.2}{9} h=8h = 8 min; Sana's =1.215= \frac{1.2}{15} h=4.8h = 4.8 min.

  2. Both are back at the start together at a common multiple of 8 and 4.8 minutes.

  3. Multiples of 8: 8, 16, 24 … ; 24=5×4.824 = 5 \times 4.8. The first common one is 24 min.

Worth noting

3 minutes is when they first meet anywhere on the track (1.2 km at 24 km/h). The starting point needs the LCM of the lap times.
