Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. ddx1+x2=x1+x2\frac{d}{dx}\sqrt{1 + x^2} = \frac{x}{\sqrt{1 + x^2}}, so an antiderivative is 1+x2\sqrt{1 + x^2}.

  2. 4−1=1\sqrt{4} - \sqrt{1} = 1.

Worth noting

2 is the antiderivative at the upper limit alone; 1=1\sqrt{1} = 1 must be subtracted.
