CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Call the integral II. By ∫0af(x) dx=∫0af(a−x) dx\int_0^a f(x)\,dx = \int_0^a f(a - x)\,dx, replacing xx by π2−x\frac{\pi}{2} - x swaps sin⁡\sin and cos⁡\cos: I=∫0π2cos⁡xcos⁡x+sin⁡x dxI = \int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \frac{\cos x}{\cos x + \sin x}\,dx.

  2. Adding the two forms, the integrand becomes 1, so 2I=π22I = \frac{\pi}{2} and I=π4I = \frac{\pi}{4}.

Worth noting

π2\frac{\pi}{2} is 2I2I; the last step halves it.
