CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Clear the root: (y−xdydx)2=1+(dydx)2\left(y - x\frac{dy}{dx}\right)^2 = 1 + \left(\frac{dy}{dx}\right)^2.

  2. Expanding, (x2−1)(dydx)2−2xydydx+y2−1=0(x^2 - 1)\left(\frac{dy}{dx}\right)^2 - 2xy\frac{dy}{dx} + y^2 - 1 = 0: the only derivative is dydx\frac{dy}{dx}, to the power 2, so the degree is 2.

Worth noting

1 reads the degree before the root is removed.
