CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Write it as ∫1⋅sin⁡−1x dx\int 1 \cdot \sin^{-1} x\,dx with u=sin⁡−1xu = \sin^{-1} x, dv=dxdv = dx: xsin⁡−1x−∫x1−x2 dxx\sin^{-1} x - \int \frac{x}{\sqrt{1 - x^{2}}}\,dx.

  2. ∫x1−x2 dx=−1−x2\int \frac{x}{\sqrt{1 - x^{2}}}\,dx = -\sqrt{1 - x^{2}}, so the answer is xsin⁡−1x+1−x2+Cx\sin^{-1} x + \sqrt{1 - x^{2}} + C.

Worth noting

−1−x2-\sqrt{1 - x^{2}} loses the sign: subtracting −1−x2-\sqrt{1 - x^{2}} adds it.
