CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. In 45 minutes the minute hand turns through 45/6045/60 = ¾ of a full turn, i.e. 270°.

  2. Full circle = 227×21×21=1386\frac{22}{7} \times 21 \times 21 = 1386 cm².

  3. Swept area = 34×1,386=1,039.5\tfrac{3}{4} \times 1{,}386 = 1{,}039.5 cm².

Worth noting

346.5 cm² is the quarter the hand has NOT yet swept. 1,386 cm² is a full hour.
