CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Let the total be TT days. Lakshmi works all TT days; Varun works T−5T - 5.

  2. T−510+T15=1\frac{T-5}{10} + \frac{T}{15} = 1. Multiply by 30: 3(T−5)+2T=303(T - 5) + 2T = 30.

  3. 5T=455T = 45, so T=9T = 9 days.

Worth noting

8 days comes from letting the wrong person stop early. 11 days wrongly adds the 5 days to the together time of 6 days.
